How to clean a hair clipper

THere are a few tips for you to help extend the life of your clipper:

Make sure your hair clipper is cleaned every day. Remove all hair from the blades and body. You can do this with the included brush or toothbrush. If hair continues to build up in the clipper, it will move down inside the clipper and begin to prevent the mechanism from working properly, slowing it down or completely jamming it.

Clean blade after use and oil every 20 minutes . The less friction on the blade, the smoother the ride.

To oil your blade, lower the clipper down so that the blade is in a horizontal position. Then apply a drop of oil on either side of the blade where the top and bottom blades meet. You can also put one drop in the middle where the blades meet for extra lubrication.

To clean the blade, use the brush to remove as much hair as possible. Wash the blades, then dry well to prevent rust from forming on the blade. Lubricate the blade before storage.

Check for nicks, cuts, and other wire problems before starting work. Any problems can lead to electric shock, so it's best to double-check!

Check blade drive, pivot and connections weekly . You will need to remove the blade and drive cover, and in some cases the housing as well. Make sure there are no rusty, missing, or worn parts and that the blade snaps into place properly if it is a snap mechanism.

Don't forget the blades! Make sure they are not rusty, have free movement without sticking, and do not have broken teeth.

Have your clipper serviced annually.

Always have a spare clipper on hand in case you run into problems.
